From Classroom to Cockpit: Caleb Lindner, WVIC Class of ‘26

Posted Date: 06/11/26 (04:00 PM)

At the West Valley Innovation Center, students do more than read about the future; they build it. And Caleb Lindner is a great example of what “building the future” means for our students and the greater community.

Caleb’s education in the West Valley School District started at Apple Valley Elementary. He later joined the PAL program at Wide Hollow and eventually found his place at the West Valley Innovation Center.

Ask Caleb about his best moment at the Innovation Center, and he lights up. For him, it was the chance to work hands-on with a real airplane at school. Not a model. Not a video. A real aircraft! That kind of experience is rare, but it is exactly what the West Valley Innovation Center was built to provide.

The unique benefit of seeing how things are made was important to Caleb. He notes, “I understand the fabrication process and can design realistic concepts more effectively.” This knowledge is sure to shape how he designs and creates in the future.

Caleb is also vocal about the support he’s received at the Innovation Center. “Mr. Detloff has been my favorite teacher at the IC due to the creative freedoms we had,” he said. “He left an impact on everyone in his class, including me.”

Innovation Center students are proud Rams, so Caleb didn’t miss the opportunity to represent West Valley on the field as well as in the classroom. “I played baseball for all four years of high school. It allowed me to stay friends with those who attended the high school.”

After graduation, Caleb plans to work for a year and then head to college. He is most excited about earning a paycheck and being rewarded for the hard work he puts in.

Caleb’s drive has brought him success in West Valley and will serve him well as he takes his next steps out in the world. Congratulations, Caleb, and go Rams!
